Real estate educators who want to be considered for the Alan S. Toban Grant Fund must submit their applications by April 15.

Applications and accompanying materials must be submitted online and/or postmarked by April 15 and sent to the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) office in Springfield. Get the Toban application now.

Toban grants of $500 are awarded annually, although the number of grants awarded will be determined by the board of directors for the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators (AIREE).

Grants will be awarded using the following criteria:

  • Completed applications,
  • Essays,
  • How applicants plan to use Toban grants,
  • Three letters of recommendation for each applicant and
  • Proof of the applicants’ work as a licensed instructor for pre-license or continuing education, in real estate or appraisals or as director of education for a real estate organization or school.

The Toban Grant Fund was established to further the education of real estate professionals in the field of real estate education. This fund was established by AIREE and is administered by Illinois REEF. Foundation (REEF).

REEF is a not-for-profit organization established to aid and promote the work of real estate education throughout Illinois. The foundation is supported by voluntary contributions from organizations and individuals who recognize the importance of furthering academic experience and training in the real estate industry in Illinois.

REEF offers eight scholarships with April 1 deadlines: Academic Scholarship, Morgan L. Fitch Scholarship, Daniel L. Goodwin Scholarship, James M. Kinney Scholarship, Parker R. Oldenettel Scholarship, George Patt Scholarship, Thomas F. Seay Scholarship and Richard D. Wiegers Scholarship.
