As a real estate licensee, you can elect to join the local, state and National Association of REALTORS®. Upon membership you’ll earn the opportunity to call yourself a REALTOR® and use the trademark REALTOR® “R” logo, which the public recognizes as the standard for ethics and professionalism in real estate.

When you join your local association of REALTORS® in Illinois you pay dues and become a member of Illinois REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. It is within this three-way membership that you’ll receive opportunities for training, networking, publications and the most current legal updates, standardized forms, and access to the REALTOR® association staff and resources.

Ethics training

Members of the National Association of REALTORS® (and Illinois REALTORS®) must successfully complete a 2.5-hour course in ethics, an element of NAR’s Code of Ethics. The policy requires that REALTORS® take ethics training within given three-year cycles and continue to update their education in successive three-year periods thereafter.
