As the 2026 Spring Legislative Session comes to a close, Illinois REALTORS® can point to a major victory: more than 100 harmful real estate-related proposals were stopped before becoming law. From rent control and commission caps to new taxes and transaction restrictions, REALTOR® advocacy played a key role in protecting property rights, housing opportunities, and the path to homeownership across Illinois.
