Frequently Asked Questions about Managing Broker License Renewal

Q.  Do the changes in the License Law affect the upcoming Managing Broker Renewal?

A.Changes in the Real Estate License Act became effective on January 1, 2018.  The one change that became effective immediately was the implementation of test-free courses.  Courses taken in a classroom, live interactive webinar, or through an online distance education format are eligible for test- free completion.   You may want to check with the course provider before you sign up for your classes to validate whether their courses are test-free.

Q. Is there a new core course available?

A. The new core will be a 4-hour course and is not yet available.  The core requirement will remain the same throughout the 2019 Managing Broker renewal.  You will be required to have a minimum of 6 hours of core to include 3 Core A, 3 Core B and 6 elective.  Courses that were previously approved to expire on 6/30/18 were extended to expire on 6/30/19.

 Q. If I took Broker Management CE for my first renewal and it was not required, will those hours roll over?

A. No.  CE hours are only applicable in the cycle in which they are taken.
