The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors voted Monday to approve a new policy between multiple listing services (MLS) and extended the time period between required Code of Ethics training sessions.

Listing brokers will be required to submit listings to their MLSs within one business day of marketing the property to the public, according to the Clear Cooperation policy, also known as MLS Statement 8.0. The NAR reports that brokers must implement the plan by May 1, 2020.

Also, the board extended the period between ethics training sessions from two years to three years. That means that REALTORS® who were due to renew their training by Dec. 31, 2020 will now have until Dec. 31, 2021. In addition, the NAR Leadership Team approved several Code of Ethics training recommendations from the 2019 presidential advisory group without a vote.
