Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (IRRF) is accepting applications to provide housing aid for those affected by the March 31 and April 1 tornadoes in multiple areas of the state.

The National Weather Service has confirmed at least 22 tornadoes in the Chicago area on March 31, and tornadoes were reported in the northwest, central and southeast parts of the state.

The aid is limited to providing rent or mortgage assistance of up to $500 per household. Grant funds may be used to cover the cost of a monthly mortgage expense, rental fees for temporary shelter, and unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster such as insurance deductible, water heater and HVAC.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2023. The details can be found on the application.

IRRF is the Illinois REALTORS® disaster assistance foundation. It has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to assist residents in Illinois and other states.
