Chicago REALTOR® Nykea Pippion McGriff is eager to add another dimension to her professional real estate expertise.

In early October, the Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors will vote to add Pippion McGriff and five other nominees to the 2019 board for three-year terms at the Illinois REALTORS® Fall Business Meetings. A broker at DreamTown Realty in Chicago sees working on the Illinois REALTORS® board as a learning opportunity and a chance to help neighbors and potential customers.

“Consumers have access to a lot of information and should be represented by REALTORS® who have taken the time to stay abreast of industry trends/changes,” Pippion McGriff says. “Our goal should be to minimize the clutter and help consumers focus on data that helps them solve their real estate problems.”

Now in her 13th year in real estate, Pippion McGriff has found many ways to improve her knowledge about the industry and share that knowledge with others. In addition to helping colleagues at DreamTown, she serves as a continuing education trainer for the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR), a contract trainer for Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED), and President-elect of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Illinois. All have provided positive influences on her career.

“Helping people achieve their real estate goals is very satisfying,” she says. “As I experience others reaching their goals, it fuels me to continue to reach for my own goals.”

For years, Pippion McGriff has been involved in the operation of CAR and NAR, serving on both organizations’ board of directors. She’s discovered the value of advocacy on the local, state and national REALTOR® associations as she’s met and worked with lobbyists and local Government Affairs Directors (GADs). She’s served on the REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Committee, is the NAR Federal Political Coordinator for U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush of Chicago and the Illinois REALTORS® state legislative contact for state Rep. Christian Mitchell, Chicago.

Collectively, she says, her experiences have increased her dedication to her colleagues and her customers.

“Each client has a unique story,” she says. “I try to take the time to listen and understand each of their stories. I think this approach allows for a new real estate experience with each and every client.”

Other nominees for the 2019 Board of Directors include: Tommy Choi, Maurice Hampton, Zeke Morris, Karen Robertson and Sarah Ware.
