Illinois REALTORS® 45-hour Post-License education is for licensed brokers in their first renewal cycle.
You must have been issued your license number (begins with 475) prior to taking this course, and will not receive credit if operating on a 45-day permit.
The new 45-hour Broker Post-License curriculum consists of three 15-hour courses, each ending with a 50-question exam. The courses do not need to be taken in any particular order.
- Risk Management/Discipline 15-hour Course (includes Sexual Harassment Prevention Training) is designed to inform and assist new licensees in understanding the principles involved in the practice of real estate brokerage and the risk associated with such practice. Topics include fair housing, antitrust, escrow issues, insurance issues, sponsoring broker policy and procedures, disclosures, RESPA, TILA, TRID, sexual harassment prevention, safety and the disciplinary process with IDFPR. This course includes mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.
- Transactional Issues 15-hour Course is designed to assist and train new licensees in transactional issues in real estate brokerage. The course will instruct to new licensees in brokerage services as a listing agent, buyer agent, property management, proper disclosures of parties in a transaction, marketing, negotiating contracts, real estate financing, property evaluation, and transactional issues in commercial properties. Transactional Issues 15-hour Course does not include Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.
- Applied Brokerage Principles 15-hour Course is designed to assist and train new licensees in multiple aspects and applications in the practice of real estate brokerage. Topics covered will include the Real Estate License Act of 2000, the brokerage business, real estate agency, handling escrow monies, advertising, working in a team structure, brokerage services, taxes related to real estate transactions, and business skills. Applied Brokerage Principles 15-hour Course does not include Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.

Illinois REALTORS® online courses have 24/7 access! Participants can work through the courses at their own pace, signing in and out as needed. 45-hour post-license courses are self-paced with reading, videos, and quizzes to show student participation and proficiency. In each course, participants will take all quizzes, averaging 75% or better to gain access to the final exam. Participants can complete everything from their home or office with the unique features of the D2L system. D2L can be accessed from any device with a strong internet or WiFi connection.
Course Delivery:
You will receive a separate email from EIU ([email protected]) including your login credentials and link to the course(s). This email is automated from EIU every 30-45 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Participants will work through reading, videos and quizzes, closing out with a final exam.
All post-license courses expire 180 days from purchase.
