The minimum requirements to earn a real estate broker license in Illinois are to be at least 21 years old (or 18 with additional requirements), have a high school diploma or equivalent, complete the required 90-hours of broker pre-license education, and pass the state licensing exam.

Real Estate Licensing Exam
You can do extra preparation for the exam with an exam prep tool such as ExamSMART or RECampus Exam Prep. The licensing exam is administered by PSI/AMP and consists of multiple choice questions covering both national and state regulations (100 national-related questions and 40 state-related questions, randomly combined).
Applying for a Real Estate License
Ask a managing broker to sponsor you. Then submit a signed sponsor card, license application, and application fee to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
