Contact your local election authority if you want a mail-in ballot or you’d like to visit an early voting location for the Illinois General Primary, which is scheduled for June 28.

Today is the first day mail-in ballots can be submitted and the first day registered voters can participate in early voting, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

In the primary, voters can vote for their favorite candidates from either the Democratic, Republican or other party, including:

  • US Senator,
  • US House of Representatives,
  • Circuit and Subcircuit Judges,
  • Illinois Governor and Lieutenant Governor,
  • Illinois Attorney General,
  • Illinois Secretary of State,
  • Illinois Comptroller,
  • Illinois Treasurer,
  • Illinois Senator and
  • Illinois Representative.

Winners will advance to the Illinois General Election on Nov. 8. For the general election, early voting and voting by mail begin on Sept. 29.
