Thanks, in part, to support from Three Rivers Association of REALTORS® (TRAR), the Grundy County Historical Society and Museum in Morris has a newly expanded coal mining exhibit that features the museum’s first interactive display.

TRAR CEO David McClintock presented a $1,000 check from the association to the Grundy County Historical Society at the museum’s grand reopening on June 13.

Morris REALTOR® and Grundy County Historical Society Board member Theresa Lamb said, “I am so proud that the Three Rivers Association of REALTORS® became involved with a generous donation to help expand our coal mining exhibit. Coal mining was an important industry in both Grundy and Will counties. It helped to spur our population growth.”

Also, the Sereno family was recognized for its donation to the historical society that helped add 3,800 square feet to the museum and allow an expansion of exhibits. Mrs. Joan Sereno was in attendance and spoke about her late husband Ken’s love of history and their decision to fund the project.

TRAR is a non-profit organization that represents more than 1,000 REALTORS® and Affiliate members. TRAR is affiliated with the Illinois REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.
