A total of 43 REALTORS® participated in day-long mediation training this week, Tuesday in Naperville and Wednesday in Springfield.
Veteran trainer and Missouri REALTOR® Bruce Aydt conducted the Illinois REALTORS® sessions for members who sought to improve their skills as an ombudsman (Ombudsman Program) or to serve as a mediator. This training also assists in developing negotiating skills.
It also gives members a better understanding of dispute resolution programs as they relate to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and the arbitration process. During mock disputes, students took turns role playing.
