Several Illinois REALTORS® shared why collaboration with others makes sense and builds stronger associations at an annual association executive conference in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday.

The session, Collaboration Skills for Success featured Jim Haisler, CEO of the Heartland REALTOR® Organization, and Kate Sax, vice president, for professionalism and career development at the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®.
The session was moderated by Jerry Matthews, who once served as CEO of Illinois REALTORS®.
Haisler talked about how he approaches collaboration, and how he reaches out to other associations to accomplish goals. Sax discussed partnerships involving professional standards which resulted in a more efficient process for several REALTOR® associations.
The two spoke during the Association Executive Institute’s final day. The annual event began Thursday, and features specialized training for REALTOR® association leaders.
