Using donations from 100 Dickerson & Nieman members, the Rock River brokerage bought and donated 40 new bicycles to the “12 hours of Salvation Toy Drive” in December. It was the third consecutive year that Dickerson & Nieman contributed to the drive held at Bachrodt Auto Mall in Rockford.
“The 12 hours of Salvation Toy Drive will donate the toys to local children at Christmas,” said Dickerson & Nieman’s Keith Kelly, general manager of his firm’s Roscoe office. “We at Dickerson love to give back to our local community because we are local.
“You might ask why bikes? Do you remember your first bike or getting a new bike as a gift? It’s such a memorable and exciting gift,” Kelly said. “Here at Dickerson, we’re not just donating bikes, we’re helping our local community make memories.”
The total value of the donated bikes is about $3,000, he said. The brokerage has participated in the area toy drive for three consecutive years.
Dickerson & Nieman has five offices that serve Winnebago, Boone and Ogle counties in Illinois: Rockford, Belvidere, Roscoe, Oregon and Byron.
