A greater percentage of REALTORS® say their mobile devices are more important to their success in 2018 than in 2017.

According to the “2018 Mobile Usage Report” released today by the Realtors Property Resource®, more than 85 percent of REALTORS® ranked the tasks performed on mobile devices as “very important,” an increase of 10 percent compared to the previous year.

Client communication, housing research and social media were the three tasks done most frequently on mobile devices. Other 2018 findings:

  • About 33 percent of respondents said they spend more than seven hours a workday on mobile devices, compared to 18 percent in 2017;
  • Of the 66 percent of REALTORS® with tablets, half use the tablet “frequently” or “always;” and
  • Favorite mobile apps included: RPR, Homesnap, Zillow, ShowingTime, Realtor.com and a variety of MLS apps.

“Consumers rely on REALTORS® to keep a pulse on the housing market in particular areas, and they are often expected to produce insights on the spot,” said Reggie Nicolay, RPR vice president of marketing. “With a smartphone or tablet, REALTORS® can provide experiences that are convenient, quick and personalized – allowing them to meet and anticipate those asks.”
