Illinois REALTORS®, take action now and contact your state lawmakers, urging them to vote ‘YES’ on two important bills pending in the Illinois General Assembly:

  • Senate Bill 2664 –  A bill offering greater protections and disclosure to consumers buying a foreclosed condominium. Current Illinois law requires people who buy a condo that has gone through foreclosure to pay six month’s worth of the assessments and other fees left unpaid by the previous owner. SB 2664 would limit the amount to be repaid and make the amount owed more transparent to the potential buyer before they make an offer.
  • House Bill 4609 – A bill that prevents the State Fire Marshal from adopting rules imposing a costly statewide fire sprinkler mandate. This legislation simply makes it very clear that a fire sprinkler mandate cannot be imposed by the passage of a rule but must be acted upon by the legislature.
