The homebuyer tax credit helped drive an increase in home sales this spring, but the question on many people’s minds is what happens now that the incentive is gone. In a recent interview with Illinois REALTOR® Magazine, University of Illinois economist Geoffrey Hewings said home sales might be a bit more muted in the coming months without the tax credit, but there are still many motivated buyers out there ready to enter the market.
