Congratulations to Springfield-area REALTOR® Michael D. Oldenettel, who was named the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Member Engagement Liaison by incoming NAR President Kenny Parcell.
Oldenettel is a managing broker with The Real Estate Group Inc. in Springfield.
As the member engagement liaison, Oldenettel has numerous responsibilities. Overall, he will help committees and committee leaders understand the issues they will face and focus on priorities of the NAR Leadership Team. He’ll mentor committee chairs, measure progress of committees toward their goals, and he’ll facilitate communications between the Leadership Team and committees.
In 2021, Oldenettel served as the NAR Region 7 Vice President, representing Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. He was honored by 2021 Illinois REALTORS® President Sue Miller with a Presidential Medallion for his service to the region and for his dedication to all levels of REALTOR® organizations.
He has served multiple terms as president of his local association, including 2022 President of Capital Area REALTORS®. He is a member of the Illinois Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board, the Golden R President’s Circle and the RPAC Hall of Fame. He has served on the NAR Board of Directors.
He was the 2013 Illinois REALTORS® president and the 2018 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. He chaired the Illinois REALTORS® Professional Standards, Strategic Planning and Finance committees. He has served on the Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors, as a dean of the REALTOR® Institute and as president of the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF).
