The COVID-19 pandemic changed one of the ways the REALTOR® Association of the Fox Valley (RAFV) is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Earlier this year, RAFV partnered with local restaurants to provide free lunches for a total of 376 area firefighters from four communities: Aurora, North Aurora, Elgin and South Elgin. RAFV members contributed $1,400 toward the Feed Our First Responders project and the RAFV Community Outreach Committee helped deliver the lunches to local departments.

The project is one of numerous ways RAFV has supported nearby communities during the pandemic. In the last year, RAFV has also helped feed hundreds of hospital workers, volunteered for the Salvation Army, collected gifts for a local Angel Tree and donated almost $2,700 to help the needy.

RAFV is led by CEO Chris Studebaker, President Lucas Albright, President-elect Miguel Fernandez, Treasurer Natalee Dismuke, Secretary Patricia Romke and Immediate Past President Paul Kempa. The local association has 1,800 members.

In addition, the Salvation Army Tri-City Corps awarded RAFV the 2021 Hope Strong Community Partner Award for its support. The award is “in recognition of your valued partnership, to further our mission to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.” Numerous RAFV volunteers accepted the award on behalf of the association.
