Students pursuing careers in real estate or a related field must submit their applications by April 1 in order to be considered for a 2021-2022 Morgan L. Fitch Scholarship, offered by the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF).

Applicants must have at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 5-point scale, have completed 60 hours of college credit and have proof of acceptance to the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, College of Commerce and Business Administration or the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. They must be Illinois residents, U.S. citizens and plan to study full time. Apply now.

Fitch scholarships of up to $2,000 are awarded annually, although the number of scholarships awarded will be determined by REEF.  Scholarships may be used for tuition, room and board, textbooks and materials.

Scholarships will be awarded using the applicant’s:

  • intended course of study and career goals,
  • record of scholastic achievement, including academic grade point average,
  • economic need or situation and
  • references and recommendations by instructors, employers, REALTORS® and other prominent individuals.

Fitch was a 1922 graduate of the University of Illinois, became president of the Chicago Real Estate Board in 1940, president of Illinois REALTORS® in 1944 and president of the National Association of REALTORS® in 1947. A leading proponent of real estate education, Fitch remained an industry leader until he died in 1973.

REEF is a not-for-profit organization established to aid and promote the work of real estate education throughout Illinois. The foundation is supported by voluntary contributions from organizations and individuals who recognize the importance of furthering academic experience and training in the real estate industry in Illinois.
