REALTORS® can improve their knowledge of cryptocurrency and real estate at a discount by reserving a place for the “Blockchain and Real Estate Symposium” Thursday afternoon in downtown Chicago.

The event begins at 12:30 p.m. with lunch and a keynote presentation by John Mirkovic, deputy recorder of deeds, Cook County Recorder of Deeds, followed by three panel discussions and a networking reception. The event, organized by the Chicago Blockchain Center and Land Services USA, is available for $30 a person but REALTORS® who register online can use the coupon code CBCNAR2018 for a 30 percent discount. The event also offers 1.5 continuing education credits.

The first panel discussion “Challenges and Opportunities in the Construction/AEC Space,” includes educators and startup founders and considers solutions to problems in the construction industry.

The second panel discussion, “A Discussion on the Current Regulatory and Legal Blockchain/Real Estate Space,” will include Illinois REALTORS® Director of Housing, Global Business & Diversity Sharon Gorrell and IDFPR Director of the Division of Real Estate Kreg Allison. They will join Mirkovic and two others will talk about public and private sector regulations and cryptocurrency in real estate.

The third panel discussion, “Crypto-Finance and the Real Estate/Brokerage Perspective,” will explain how cryptocurrencies and decentrally stored digitized assets affect financing and brokerages. NAR Managing Director Chad Curry will be part of that discussion.
