This year’s Illinois Housing Leaders Conference will feature noted financial writer Shari Olefson.
Olefson is director of the Carnegie Group think tank and author of “Financial Fresh Start.” She’s written widely on the financial impacts of regulations enacted in the wake of the recession, and has appeared on cable news network shows.
The keynote is part of a package of events at the conference, held in Springfield, March 31 as a lead-in to the annual Capitol Conference and Lobby Day.
  • A opening panel, “Understanding the Challenges facing Boomerang Buyers,” will bring together experts to explore an important group of potential homebuyers. Terry Clemans, executive director of the National Consumer Reporting Association, Mary R. Kenney, executive director of the Illinois Housing Development Authority and Bernie Miller, executive vice president of The Federal Savings Bank will discuss the challenges this group faces and how REALTORS® can help.
  • Registrants have the opportunity to obtain three hours of CE with a session by nationally-known trainer Lynn Madison. She will present “Unconventional is becoming Conventional (FI 1173).
