Illinois REALTORS® told U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi that protecting the Mortgage Interest Deduction was critical to helping the real estate industry and the economy.

The REALTOR® delegation comprised of members in his Chicago-area district met with Krishnamoorthi on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning, part of a series of meetings with Illinois congressional representatives scheduled today and Thursday.

Federal Political Coordinator Bob Dohn led the discussion, which touched on the need to renew federal flood insurance protections and the 1031 Like-Kind Exchange, which allows for reinvestment in real estate.
