So far in 2025, the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (IRRF) has had a record number of relief campaigns, due in part to higher disaster frequencies as well as IRRF’s expanded capacity to assist those in need.
IRRF assists qualifying disaster victims with up to $500 in mortgage, rental assistance or unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster (e.g. insurance deductible, home-related costs not covered by insurance).
In 2025, IRRF has already had six distinct disaster campaigns covering floods, tornadoes and even fires. Funding and disbursement increased significantly from the previous two years, with this year’s largest relief effort being the distribution of $50,000 to 100 households affected by flooding in the Chicago area.
Relief efforts this year include:
- Flooding in the southern Illinois communities of Salem, Centralia and Bond County – April
- Tornado in southwestern Illinois and Bond County – May
- Multiple tornadoes in Jacksonville – June
- Flooding in Chicago and Cook County – July and August
- Special campaign for displaced elderly Richton Park fire victims – May
- Special campaign for displaced Twin Oaks fire victims in Joliet – June
Since IRRF was founded in 2015, it has distributed $548,079 and has helped 1,032 families statewide.
