REALTOR® Deena Zimmerman was named as 2017 NAR commercial liaison at the Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Show held in Washington, D.C., last week.

Deena Zimmerman has been named Commercial Liaison for 2017.

Zimmerman’s role has her reporting to the national association’s leadership about actions and issues before the multitude of commercial real estate-oriented committees.

She’s the second Illinois REALTOR® in as many years to hold the high-profile role. REALTOR® Dan Wagner holds the position in 2016.

She says a goal for her time as liaison would be to enhance the visibility of commercial REALTORS® within NAR.

Zimemrman is a broker and vice president with SVN Chicago Commercial, and was given a 2012 National Commercial Award from NAR for her work promoting the commercial real estate industry. She earned a REALTOR® achievement award from the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and has been active with the Illinois Young Professionals Network.

A graduate of both the NAR and Illinois REALTORS® leadership development programs, Zimmerman has devoted time to REALTORS® to the Rescue, an organization which aids homeless pets in the Chicago area.

Zimmerman serves on the Illinois REALTORS® NAR Involvement Subcommittee, the YPN Advisory Committee and the Commercial/Industrial/Investment Committee (which she chaired in 2013 and 2014).

She has served on the NAR Directors Committee and Involvement Subcommittee.
