Illinois REALTORS® are scrambling to make their voices heard before Congress votes on the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) renewal. And it could happen this week.

Through Monday morning, more than 4,000 Illinois REALTORS® had urged their elected representatives in Congress to renew the program before the July 31 expiration date. Join the growing number of participants in the NAR Call for Action now!

All but four counties in Illinois have paid claims through the NFIP since 1978, and nearly 41,000 renter-occupied housing units are located in Illinois floodplains. REALTORS® in the Land of Lincoln realize how real the possibility of flooding can be.

Nationally, a failure to renew this important national program will jeopardize 40,000 property sales a month. Property in more than 20,000 flood-prone communities across the country is required to have federally backed flood insurance.

Participating in the Call for Action is easy and critically important. Do it today!
