Sue Miller, managing broker of Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell in McHenry, was named 2017 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year at the state association’s Public Policy Meetings in East Peoria today. The award honors individuals whose dedication to excellence has profoundly enhanced the industry.
“This is, I believe, the highest award you can be bestowed by your peers. It’s a recognition that is amazing and I thank each and every one of you for it,” Miller said after the announcement was made.
“Real estate is my passion, you are my family and I hope I represent you well, she said. “Thank you so much. I am so honored and humbled at the same time.”
Involved in the real estate business for 30 years, Miller has been active at all levels of the REALTOR® organization. She served two terms as president of her local association and was twice honored as local REALTOR® of the Year.
At the state level, Miller has served a total of 11 years on the Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors and can always be counted on to offer time, expertise and leadership to the association’s committees and working groups.
An industry trainer as well as REALTOR®, she is committed to promoting education, ethics and professional development. This REALTOR® has served multiple terms as chair of the Education Working Group and is a long-time member of the REEF board of directors.
She is a “Sterling R” contributor to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee and is one of a select few in the state who has been honored with the Illinois REALTORS® Distinguished Service Award. She has been active with the National Association of REALTORS®, is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® and is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the Council of Residential Specialists.
