IAR members were the recipients of several awards at a ceremony held Saturday in San Diego at the REALTORS® Conference and Expo. REALTORS® Christopher Tenggren, Jim Kinney and Michael Rickert received awards at the National Association of REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Diego Saturday.

Tenggren was given the 2015 EverGreen Award.

Kinney and Rickert were honored with the 2015 Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) Outstanding Service Award. All were part of the ABR®, SRES® and GREEN Networking and Awards Reception at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel.

Tenggren is vice chairman of the 2016 IAR REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee (RPIC) and a broker for RE/MAX Great American North in St. Charles.

He joined the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2013, participated in the first NAR Green Designation program in 2009. He has been an active member of the NAR Green REsource Council and played an important role in making the MLS green through his work with the Midwest Real Estate Data’s MLS Green Committee.

Tenggren works with builders in the western suburbs of Chicago, encouraging them to use green practices with new home construction and remodeling projects. He also lives in an Energy-Star-Certified Home custom-built for his family in 2006.

Tenggren has served on numerous IAR committees since 2003. In 2016, he’s on seven committees including RPIC.

Kinney

The vice president of luxury home sales for Baird & Warner in Chicago and the past president of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® earned the SRES designation by going through special training to help seniors sell homes, buy homes which are a better fit and finance their housing transactions.

As IAR president, Kinney commissioned the Senior Housing Working Group to look at how Illinois was handling an aging population. The working group generated a package of recommendations aimed at raising the visibility of senior housing issues and looked at ways to provide resources to real estate professionals and the clients they serve.

Rickert

REALTOR® Michael Rickert is honored for work with seniors.

REALTOR® Michael Rickert is honored for work with seniors.

Rickert is a past chair and a founding member of the Senior Services Task Force for the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® as well as the owner of Rickert REALTORS® in Des Plaines.

He earned the SRES designation and took part in special training to help seniors sell homes, buy homes which are a better fit and finance their housing transactions.

Rickert’s task force started with six members and quickly grew to 50 including REALTORS® and other community professionals. Members made presentations to the community on senior housing issues and staged a Senior Resource Rally to help consumers connect with REALTORS®.
