The Illinois REALTORS® Nominating Committee slated six people for three-year Board of Directors terms beginning with the 2019 administrative year.

The Nominating Committee conducted interviews with all applicants and these REALTORS® were slated:

  • Tommy Choi, co-owner of Keller-Williams Chicago – Lincoln Park;
  • Maurice Hampton, CEO and managing broker of Centered International Realty Corp. in Chicago;
  • Zeke Morris, owner and managing broker at EMA Realty & Management in Chicago;
  • Nykea Pippion McGriff, managing broker at DreamTown Realty in Chicago;
  • Karen Robertson, broker at Spring Realty in Shorewood; and
  • Sarah Ware, principal and managing broker for Ware Realty Group with two offices in Chicago.

The board will vote on this slate of directors during the Fall Business Meetings, scheduled for Oct. 3 and 4 at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center.

Choi is president-elect for the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR), a member of the CAR Board of Directors, vice chair of the National Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network Advisory Board and a member of several other NAR committees. He’s the state legislative contact for state Rep. Greg Harris of Chicago. In 2017, Chicago Agent magazine honored him with the Charitable Service Award. In 2014, he received the CAR Community Service Award.

Hampton is vice chair of the NAR Global Business Council Forum and a member of the NAR Global Business and Alliances Committee. He’s the state legislative contact for state Rep. LaShawn Ford of Chicago. He’s the treasurer for CAR, serves as vice chair of the Illinois REALTORS® Global Business Council and is the Illinois REALTORS® Consulate General Liaison to Canada. He’s served on several state committees during the last four years.

Morris was honored by the NAR Board of Directors in May for leading the association’s Fair Housing Act Anniversary Implementation Group. He also served as the chair of the Large State Forum for NAR. The 2017 inductee into the NAR REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame was the CAR president in 2012 and has served on many state committees. Morris is the state legislative contact for state Sen. Kwame Raoul of Chicago. He was the 2017 vice chair of the Illinois Housing Opportunity Working Group, chair of the State Legislative Contacts Working Group in 2012 and 2014, and chair of the Public Policy & Government Affairs MIG in 2009.

Pippion McGriff is the NAR Federal Political Coordinator for U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush of Chicago and the Illinois REALTORS® state legislative contact for state Rep. Christian Mitchell, Chicago. She’s a representative on the NAR Board of Directors and she’s a member of the REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Committee. Pippion McGriff is a member of the CAR Board of Directors and the 2018 president-elect of the Women’s Council of Realtors Illinois. She serves as a continuing education instructor for CAR and a contract trainer for Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED).

Robertson is a 2017 inductee into the NAR REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame. She is the Medium State Forum chair for NAR and serves on the NAR Local Leadership Idea Exchange Council. She is the state legislative contact for state Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant of Plainfield. She is a former president of the Three Rivers Association of REALTORS® and has served on numerous committees for the state association, including chair of the 2016 Public Policy & Government Affairs Member Involvement Group and vice chair of the 2017 State Legislative Contact Working Group.

Ware is the vice chair of the NAR Housing Opportunity Committee, a member of the NAR Board of Directors, the Diversity Committee, the Public Policy Coordinating Committee and the Smart Growth Advisory Board. She is the Illinois REALTORS® state legislative contact for state Rep. Juliana Stratton, Chicago. Ware is a member of the CAR Board of Directors and has served on many state committees and working groups, including chair of the 2016 Housing Opportunity Working Group and 2018 chair of the Leadership Development Working Group.
