The theme for the 2013 Illinois Association of REALTORS® Fall Conference & Expo in St. Charles, Ill., Oct. 1-3,  plays on the deep impact the organization’s members have on their communities and their profession.

“REALTORS® have strength in numbers. We are 41,000 members strong in the Illinois Association of REALTORS® and that united ‘Voice for Real Estate in Illinois’ helps buyers and sellers, homeowners and private property owners all across the state,” said REALTOR® Phil Chiles, ABR, CRS, GRI and IAR President-elect, who chose the theme for his Oct. 2 Inaugural Gala held during the fall conference.

As part of this celebration of the profession, IAR is asking members to show the Power of R in a very public way. Send us a group photo of everyone in your firm, your REALTOR® team photo, you wearing your REALTOR® pin, REALTOR® association staff and/or board photos. Post them on social media with the #PowerofR hashtag and let us help you celebrate being a part of the REALTOR® community.

The theme was inspired by four areas where the association’s membership shows strength.

  • RPAC, our political action committee
  • RVOICE grassroots advocacy program
  • R Education including professional standards and the Code of Ethics which sets REALTORS® apart from those who just hold a real estate license
  • R Family

“We continue to accomplish more together as the REALTOR® family under the umbrella of the REALTOR® ‘R’ trademark than we could ever do on our own,” Chiles said.
