REALTORS® mourn passing of IAR board member Chuck Wiercinski

Services have been scheduled for Chuck Wiercinski, CCIM, CRB, a longtime REALTOR® and current member of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors.

Wiercinski, 68, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, after a long illness. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, until a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon St., in Hoffman Estates. Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.

In addition to serving on the IAR board, Chuck was a member of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s Education Advisory Board.

“Chuck Wiercinski was a tireless advocate for real estate, and particularly for commercial practitioners,” said Illinois Association of REALTORS® President Jim Kinney, ABR, CRB, CRS, GRI. “His knowledge of the real estate business made him a go-to person on issues of policy and license law. He will be very much missed by his colleagues who relied on him for advice and insight”

Chuck is survived by his wife, Kathy.

A member of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors, Chuck was a senior instructor with CCIM Institute. He was a senior broker with McLennan Commercial Properties Inc. He had been in the real estate business since 1975, according to the McLennan website.

Always a supporter of IAR’s efforts on behalf of the real estate industry, Chuck was a Sterling R RPAC investor.

Chuck held numerous leadership positions with IAR. He chaired the Commercial Industrial Investment Committee four times since 2003, was vice chair and later chair of the Public Policy Member Involvement Group and vice chair and chair of the Business Issues/License Law Working Group.

In addition, Chuck served on numerous other committees including the Economic Development Working Group, REALTOR® of the Year, Executive Committee, and the Governance Task Force, to name just a few.

He was recognized with IAR’s Political Involvement Award in 2009, and had been REALTOR® of the Year for the Northwest Suburban Association of REALTORS®, REALTOR® Association of Northwest Chicagoland and Northern Illinois Commercial Association of REALTORS®.
