Kreg Allison has been appointed the director of the Division of Real Estate for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation by Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, although his starting date was not announced.

Allison is the senior counsel for Avison Young, a commercial real estate services firm, and his office is located in Chicago. According to the Avison Young website, Allison he has held the position since 2012. His responsibilities include providing advice on business transactions and issues related to taxes, investments, banking, compliance, corporate governance, government relations, human resources, insurance and licenses. He also serves as assistant secretary for Avison Young (Canada) Inc., and its subsidiary corporations.

Avison Young has more than 2,100 real estate professionals and 73 offices in five countries.

Before working with Avison Young, he was the Hamilton County chief legal officer and administrator for the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts in Cincinnati, Ohio. There he managed the largest clerk of courts office in Ohio.
