Sunday, August 26, was Illinois Constitution Day, as well asDedication Day for Bicentennial Plaza – a REALTOR® Community Partnership. The day featured hundreds of guests, elected officials, dignitaries, and VIPs, in addition to the Marching Illini, a military flyover, and cheesecake served by Springfield’s favorite son. Workers began placing personalized bricks on the west end of the Bicentennial Plaza – a REALTOR® Community Partnership in Springfield as they work toward the Aug. 26 dedication.

Illinois REALTORS® dedicated a monument to the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act on Monday, April 9, 2018.

In April, Illinois REALTORS® dedicated a Fair Housing monument outside of its Springfield headquarters at the future site of Bicentennial Plaza—symbolizing REALTOR® commitment to end housing discrimination and celebrating a milestone, not only for the nation, but for the real estate industry and all who rely on it. Prominently etched are the words “Equal Opportunity in Housing for All”—an enduring symbol of the progress made in the fight for fair housing, and the real estate industry’s commitment to protecting this right for future generations.
