Scott Newman

REALTOR® Scott Newman, managing broker/owner of Newman Realty in Chicago, feels as proud of his volunteer work as a home owner who’s finished a satisfying remodeling job on his kitchen.

Newman joined PAWS Chicago as a member of its Development Board, helping with fundraising and event planning. He relates well to the mission of PAWS – finding homes for abandoned, lost or unwanted dogs and cats – through adoptions, spaying/neutering services and foster care programs.

Since the organization opened in 1997, the number of animals euthanized each year in Chicago has dropped by 77 percent, to below 10,000. Charity Navigator, the country’s premier independent charity evaluator, has awarded PAWS Chicago its highest four-star rating for 13 consecutive years.

“I have been a lifelong animal lover and the fit was a natural one,” says Newman. “PAWS is a tremendous organization full of incredible people totally committed to our mission. Being asked to be a part of this is something I’ve been working towards for many years.

“There is nothing better than watching the number of euthanized animals in Chicago drop exponentially since PAWS made it their mission to make Chicago a kill-free city. Seeing the progress we’ve made and how far we can still go is inspiring. Giving a voice to animals that don’t have a voice is as noble a cause as there is!”
