Two people prominent in Illinois real estate were honored Tuesday for outstanding service to their profession at the Illinois Association of REALTORS® 2013 Board of Directors meeting in St. Charles, Ill.

The Distinguished Service Award goes to IAR members who have at least 20 years of service, have demonstrated leadership at the local, state and national level and have have tirelessly worked toward the betterment of the real estate profession.

The awards for 2013 go to:

Sue Miller

Sue Miller, a longtime REALTOR® and educator who holds the GRI, CRS, ABR, LTG, PMN, SFR and ePro designations, was honored for her more than 30 years of service to the profession.

Miller has been a director and president for her local association, served as a federal political coordinator, and has served on more than 30 committees for the state association. She’s a managing broker at Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell in McHenry, Ill.

Al Suguitan

Al Suguitan, CAE, who is the association executive for the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS®, was honored for more than 40 years of service.

He served as a state Real Estate Commissioner, is a member of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee Hall of Fame and has led the state association’s association executive committee.
