The Illinois REALTORS® offices and the Illinois REALTORS® Legal Hotline will be closed Wed., Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

They will reopen on Thurs., Nov. 12.

Veterans Day is designed to recognize all military service men and women, living or dead, currently serving or veterans. The history of the holiday dates back to the armistice between the Allies and Germany at the end of World War I. The Treaty of Versailles was signed on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.

Armistice Day became a holiday in 1926 and a national holiday in 1938. In 1954, the name was changed to Veterans Day. Find out more.
