On the cusp of Illinois REALTORS® 100th anniversary, leaders of the organization were asked to share their thoughts on what they though the industry would look like if the 44,000-member trade association had not been formed in 1916.

They also shared what they think the role of the organization will be in the next 100 years, as if continues its legacy of education, advocacy and an emphasis on professional practice.

“Without having the Illinois REALTORS® defending and speaking for private property rights, we would be all across the board and I think you would not see civilization as we know it today,” said Jim Kinney, former Illinois REALTORS® president.

As we close out the association’s centennial year, it’s a good time to note how far we’ve come and where we will go next.
