Illinois REALTORS® was among a group of state businesses and organizations celebrated Saturday as an Illinois Centennial Business by the Illinois State Historical Society. The ceremony recognizing 100-plus years of business and service was held in the newly restored Illinois Governor’s Mansion in Springfield.
Founded in 1916, Illinois REALTORS® has grown to become one of the state’s largest trade associations, representing more than 47,000 REALTOR® members around the state.
Every year, the Illinois State Historical Society honors businesses and not-for-profit organizations that have operated continuously for at least a century. Twenty-four groups were recognized on Saturday and included manufacturers, retailers, community library districts and trade associations.
