IDFPR’s Broker license renewal portal is now open for brokers to renew their licenses online. Broker licensees should have received an email notification from IDFPR with login information and must renew their licenses on or by the April 30, 2026 deadline.

Brokers Licensed

PRIOR TO Nov. 1, 2023

12 hours of CE between May 1, 2024 and Apr. 30, 2026. Must include:

  • 6 hours of Core CE that includes 2 hours of Fair Housing CE, and
  • 6 hours of elective CE that includes 1 hour of sexual harassment prevention training.

Brokers Licensed

Nov. 1, 2023 to Oct. 31, 2025

45 hour Broker Post-License on or before Apr. 30, 2026. Must include:

  • Three 15-hour courses, each ending with a 50-question exam

  • Note: The post-license curriculum includes the required Sexual Harassment Prevention training.

Brokers Licensed

ON or AFTER Nov. 1, 2025

Your license does not expire until April 30, 2028. You must complete 45 hours of Broker Post-License coursework consisting of three 15-hour courses, each ending with a 50-question exam (coursework must include the required Sexual Harassment Prevention training) on or before Apr. 30, 2028.

How to renew your Broker license

After completing your education requirements, submit your online license renewal application and $200 State of Illinois renewal fee to IDFPR’s license renewal portal on or before April 30, 2026.
