Lincoln Park Zoo – Bring the family or go by yourself. After a 19-minute car ride north, you can watch gorillas, chimpanzees, monkeys, rhinos, birds, crocodiles, snakes in a great park setting.

Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows – About 3.5 miles north, on Navy Pier, you’ll find about 150 stained glass windows from religious and secular settings, including works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. See portraits of Martin Luther King Jr. and Michael Jordan, too.

Smart Museum of Art, University of Chicago – About 16 minutes to the south, you’ll be dazzled by masterpieces of Pablo Picasso, Ansel Adams, Frank Lloyd Wright, Degas and many more.

City Gallery at the Historic Water Tower – About 15 minutes to the north, you’ll find one of the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 with an art gallery inside. The current exhibit by Jason Reblondo (New Deal Utopias) features photos and art of three communities planned during the Great Depression.
