The Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (IRRF) has announced a new disaster relief effort, this time to residents in the Jacksonville area whose homes were damaged by a series of tornadoes that swept through the central Illinois community on June 18. According to news reports, as many as four tornadoes touched down in the area, causing substantial property damage.
The tornado victims can apply for up to $500 in mortgage, rental assistance or unreimbursed losses directly related to the disasters (e.g. insurance deductible, home-related not covered by insurance) from IRRF, which announced a total of $20,000 available.
Only one application is permitted per household. Get the application at: https://www.illinoisrealtors.org/about/foundations/irrf/
The deadline to apply for the Jacksonville tornado relief is Oct. 31, 2025. More information can be found on the application.
There are two other ongoing IRRF efforts:
- One is for Southern Illinois residents whose homes were damaged in early April by heavy rainfalls and flash flooding. The deadline to submit an application for that damage is July 31, 2025.
- The other is also for Southern Illinois, this time for victims of a tornado that swept through Williamson County on May 16. The deadline for that IRRF effort is Aug. 31, 2025.
Applications for all of the current IRRF efforts can be found at: https://www.illinoisrealtors.org/about/foundations/irrf/
IRRF grants are based on availability of funds and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served based. IRRF has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to assist disaster victims in Illinois and other states.
