The new Cook County Residential Tenant Landlord Ordinance (RTLO) goes into effect on June 1, 2021. There are more than 10 new disclosures and prohibited provisions that Cook County landlords and property managers will need to know and, generally speaking, implement on leases or renewals entered on or after June 1, 2021.

To help you prepare, attend a free Illinois REALTORS® roundtable discussion and get your RTLO questions answered. Registered attendees also will receive a new Cook County Residential Tenant and Landlord Ordinance Member Guide that walks you through these new provisions.

The roundtable panel will cover:

  • History of the Cook County RTLO
  • Potential legal issues
  • Examples of how similar rules have worked in the city of Chicago

Note: Chicago, Evanston and Mount Prospect and possibly other municipalities that have their own RTLO-type ordinances do not have to comply with the new Cook County rules.
