More than 6,000 responses have been sent to Illinois lawmakers as part of Calls for Action issued by the Illinois Association of REALTORS® during the 99th Illinois General Assembly.

  • Last month IAR asked members to urge legislators to vote against a bill requiring video sewer inspections before property sales. HB1376 is still active and potentially could come up for a floor vote. The measure could add $500 or more to the cost of selling a home. To date, 4,053 people have responded to the Call for Action (Take part here) urging legislators to vote against  this bill.
  • On Monday, IAR issued a second Call for Action urging members to advocate against SB1380 which would allow municipalities to attach a lien for nuisance code violations on non-offending properties. (Take part here.) The bill could come up for a vote and IAR is asking for members to tell lawmakers this is an overreach when it comes to private property rights. So far, 2,013 people have responded to this Call for Action.

It’s not too late to make the REALTOR® Voice heard. Take part in the Call for Actions today.
