The board of directors for the Real Estate Educational Foundation unanimously approved a measure on Monday, June 20, 2016, to establish a scholarship in the name of a longtime Illinois REALTOR® who played a role in shaping the association’s education mission.

REALTOR® Dan Bock

REALTOR® Dan Bock

Dan Bock died April 14, 2015, but left $20,000 to be used for scholarships administered through REEF. Bock was an NAR and Illinois RPAC Hall of Fame member, and was past president of the Logan County Board of REALTORS®. He was a real estate instructor, served on the REALTOR Institute Board of Governors and played a role in the Illinois REALTORS® Spring Conference.

The bequest will be used in part to fund scholarships through the James M. Kinney and Robert Cook scholarships. The money will be used to establish the Dan Bock Scholarship for the GRI graduate program.

REEF was established to further real estate education in Illinois and has awarded more than $520,000 since 2000.

The REEF board met at the Springfield Wyndham City Centre Hotel as part of the Illinois REALTORS® June board meetings.
