Illinois REALTORS® who work with association members and the public sat down for training on Monday as part of an initial round of session held as part of the annual Public Policy Meetings in East Peoria.
The Ombudsman program works to resolve some disputes and misunderstandings that can arise during a real estate transaction. Often, a session with one of the association’s trained volunteers can take care of problems before they become more acute.
The association’s Ombudsman program is one of two avenues REALTORS® an the public have to resolve disputes. The association also offers an Ethics Citation Program which focuses on issues relating to certain portions of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
The training in East Peoria was led by Chris Read, ABR, CRB, CRS, GRI, SRES, a Woodridge REALTOR® and trainer. Read has served on Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors and is a member of the Ombudsman Committee.
