The Chicago Association of REALTORS® honored a number of members and association leaders for service to the industry on Wednesday as part of the installation of 2017 President Matt Silver.

Among those honored Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2016, at a Chicago Association of REALTOR® installation banquet were: Matt Ferrell; 2016 CAR President Dan Wagner, who gave the awards; 2017 CAR President Matt Silver and Maurice Hampton.

Among those honored Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at a Chicago Association of REALTOR® installation banquet were: Matt Ferrell; 2016 CAR President Dan Wagner, who gave the awards; 2017 CAR President Matt Silver and Maurice Hampton.

Outgoing CAR president Dan Wagner recognized eight who had made a difference in the past year in areas ranging from association planning to global outreach. Those honored include:

  • NAR CEO Dale Stinton was honored for his work to help CAR move to the REALTOR® building on Michigan Avenue.
  • Illinois REALTORS® CEO Gary Clayton was honored for partnering to include state association office space in the design for the Chicago association’s new offices.
  • Illinois REALTORS® local Government Affairs Director Brian Bernardoni was honored for his work on advocacy. Bernardoni works with the Chicago association, and has tackled issues ranging from parking permits for REALTOR® members to affordable housing.
  • Jim Kinney, former Illinois REALTORS® and Chicago Association president, was honored for mentoring others.
  • Matt Ferrell was honored for work on the association’s new office space.
  • Matt Silver, installed as president Wednesday, was highlighted for his work with the New Building Working Group.
  • Maurice Hampton was recognized for his leadership on global issues.
  • Erika Villegas was recognized for her work with YPN which provided charitable assistance to the Boys and Girls Club.
