Illinois REALTORS® has named Young Brockhouse as vice president of professional development.

Brockhouse, 46, will oversee professional development programs for the statewide association’s more than 50,000 members. He replaces Kristen Butcher, CMP, who was recently named executive vice president of Illinois REALTORS®.

“Young’s public policy background makes him a natural fit for his new role with Illinois REALTORS®,” said association CEO Gary Clayton, CAE, RCE. “He has extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment our practitioners face, as well as a deep appreciation for the role education plays in ensuring industry professionalism.”

Brockhouse, of Springfield, has more than 20 years of experience with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation including 15 years in the Division of Real Estate, where he served in a variety of roles including: acting real estate director, Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board acting chairperson, licensing and education manager, and chief testing officer.

Brockhouse is an Illinois managing broker and licensed continuing education instructor. He served two terms on the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) Board of Directors.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration /Economics from Illinois College and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
