The Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® (MORe) received a Diamond Global Achievement Program Award and the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) received a Platinum Global Achievement Program Award from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) on Nov. 3.

The recognition came during the Global Business Council Forum during the 2020 REALTORS® Virtual Conference & Expo.

MORe was one of only two local associations to gain Diamond recognition from NAR in 2020, while CAR was one of 10 to reach Platinum status. Their achievements are based on evaluations in five focus areas: business plan, marketing and communication, events/education, outreach and benchmarking.

NAR offers more information on Global Business Councils and their importance to associations, communities and the economy. Find out more about NAR’s Global Achievement Program, trade missions, best practices for global business councils and more.

In addition to the recognition, NAR Global Vice Chair Michelle Mills Clement and Chair Nino Perdomo led a panel discussion, “Global research in your market: The what, the how and the why.” Panelists included Donna Wilson of MORe, Lynda Fernandez of Miami Association of REALTORS® and Tessa Hultz of the Long Island Board of REALTORS® in New York.

Topics included:

  • why their associations participate in the U.S. Residential Real Estate Annual Report,
  • local data sources for international transactions and
  • the types of tools local associations can provide members to help them serve global markets properly.
