A video featuring Illinois REALTORS® President-elect Sue Miller reminds members to consistently apply Fair Housing policies during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

“One essential concept is that we always treat consumers seeking our services consistently,” Miller says during the video. “This was true before and remains true in the midst of this public health emergency.”

For example, brokerages that require health screening forms must use them with all clients, and treat all consumers in a consistent manner.

“Part of our responsibility is adhering to the highest ethical standards and serving as trusted advisors for our clients,” Miller said. “As we work through this unique time, and as we commemorate Fair Housing Month, let’s remember who we are and the principles that make us better.”

Members of Illinois REALTORS® are also members of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and must complete NAR ethics training every three years. Login and find out more about the Interactive, online and classroom ethics courses, available through Illinois REALTORS®.

Miller is the managing broker for Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group in McHenry.
