In today’s “REALTORS® who made a difference in 2020” story, we highlight the efforts of Chicago REALTOR® Tommy Choi, who is serving as NAR Vice President Association Affairs and Springfield-area REALTOR® Michael D. Oldenettel, who is NAR Region 7 Vice President.

Choi, of Keller Williams Chicago-Lincoln Park and co-founder of the Weinberg Choi Residential Team, is a member of the Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors and has served on numerous committees and working groups since 2012. He is the chair of the 2020 Strategic Planning Committee and the State Legislative Contact for Rep. Greg Harris of Chicago. He has served as NAR director for four years and is the NAR Young Professionals Advisory Board immediate past chair. He is the Chicago Association of REALTORS® immediate past president and a member of its board of directors.

In a new video, Choi talks about the challenges of 2020 and how he looks forward to the new year:

Oldenettel, of RE/MAX Springfield, has been active in all levels of the REALTOR® association. He is a longtime member of the NAR Board of Directors and has chaired two national committees. With Illinois REALTORS®, he served as president in 2013 and was named REALTOR® of the Year in 2018. He is a member of the RPAC Hall of Fame for lifetime contributions of at least $25,000. He is the State Legislative Contact for State Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer of Jacksonville.

He is a real estate industry trainer, a past president of the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) and has served as dean of the REALTOR Institute Working Group. In 2016, he was appointed by Gov. Bruce Rauner to serve on the Illinois Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board.
